Bill is a licensed professional mechanical engineer and has over 25 years of experience in ASTM crankcase oil testing, commercial solar energy generation, oil and gas equipment manufacturing, and Medical Device manufacturing. Bill holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Austin College in Sherman, TX and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. The last 15 years of Bill’s experience has been focused on Medical Device manufacturing. With this background, Bill has the experience to apply the highly regulated Medical Device manufacturing requirements to the Cannabis Industry. Bill has experience in medical device sterile barrier packaging designs, processes, and validations. Bill has served in the roles of engineering project management, operations, and most recently the Plant Manager (site leader) for a medical device manufacturing plant in Colorado. Bill also recently spoke at the SoCal Cannabis Cup on the History of Child Resistant Packaging and provided an overview of the new Colorado Regulations.
Paul is a degreed Mechanical Engineer who has been developing medical and commercial products for OEM manufacturers. He has over 35 years of experience in designing products primarily used in the medical industry, and he started his own consulting company Burek Design in 1989. His expertise is in food grade polypropylene part design utilizing many of the food grade polypropylene part manufacturing processes: injection molding, blowmolding, extrusion, thermoforming. Paul also brings a knowledge in manufacturing systems, assembly, fixturing, and tooling requirements for assembly. He is familiar with the FDA and international medical device regulations which can be applied to the cannabis industry for labeling, testing, and certifications.
Amy spent 16 years in sales and marketing of medical devices before she took a leap into the packaging market. She spent the first portion of her career selling medical devices in operating rooms for Johnson & Johnson, then moved onto marketing for Medtronic and Sorin after the completion of her MBA. During her tenure in Marketing, Amy managed a $250 million product line globally while leading efforts around bringing new medical technology into emerging markets. Amy holds a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota, an MBA from the University of Denver and a Certificate in Digital Marketing from Duke University. In addition, Amy is adjunct faculty in the Business School of Colorado Technical University.
