Our VP of Sales and Marketing was on a Podcast!

Hello there – it is Amy Wessman.  I have been in charge of Sales and Marketing here at CRATIV Packaging for a little over two years.  Working here at CRATIV Packaging has been a fantastic experience and I have learned so much about cannabis, business, and marketing in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

Due to the advent of the internet, marketing has evolved from paper fliers in storefront windows and word of mouth advertising via chats on street corners to very specific, directed electronic marketing strategies that seem to creep into our computers and track our every move. At times, some marketing campaigns can seem a bit invasive and as a result potential customers may not pay attention to marketing messages.

As a marketer, I am constantly looking for channels that I can effectively use in order to share news around CRATIV Packaging.  A marketing channel that I have recently discovered is podcasts.  As many of you know, podcasts are reminiscent of radio shows from the early 20thcentury in that they discuss newsworthy topics or tell us stories which we can listen to as a means of relaxation. Podcasts have been around since 2004, but their recent gain in popularity is due to the fact that they fit perfectly into our busy lives.  The reason that podcasts are so great is that we can listen to topics that interests is on our own timelines.  That is why when I was recently offered the opportunity to participate in a podcast that focused on women in cannabis my response was “heck yes!”

The ladies over at “Your Highness Podcast” (https://yourhighnesspodcast.podbean.com/) did a wonderful job of scheduling and executing my interview for their show.  For those of you who have not been interviewed on a podcast – I can only image it is similar to that of being on the radio.  Our 25-minute interview was conducted over the phone and I was sent the questions beforehand so that I could prepare.  My answers were recorded, edited and then released on May 13, 2019. The entire experience was a lot of fun and gave me a little insight into this exciting marketing channel.

One thing to note is, just like television and radio shows, podcasts offer paid sponsorships, which could be a great opportunity to get the word out about any current product launches or other company news.  So, when you are ready to launch your products (in CRATIV Packaging) I would suggest you look into being a part of a podcast either by sponsorship or by participating in one.  Many podcasts are in need of content and as a result you may be able to participate for free!

Thanks to the ladies over at Your Highness Podcast for making participation in my first podcast exciting, interesting and enjoyable!  I wish you both much success in your podcast and future endeavors!
